Juan Mateus has been working as a freelance photographer since 2009.
He has assisted and styled photo shoots for British Vogue and has had a solo exhibition at First Out in the West End of London.
“Juan Mateus grew up in Colombia, with frequent visits to the magnificent open spaces of its countryside. He was classically trained in music from the age of five and moved to England at 20.
Early in life he developed an inclination and expression of the arts, inspired through his music and a love of ‘pop’ culture and fashion photography.
Today Juan is on an intimate visual voyage capturing images viewed from his heart. Naturally curious, a good humored traveller – his pictures reflect his contented solitude within the cityscape.
He brings a unique style and simplicity to the subject matter, the beauty of which continues to inspire and stimulate him on his journey through the streets, through London, through life.”
